Have you wondered what the Kingdom of God is? Let’s see what the Bible says about it!
The Greatest Kingdom Ever
“… the God of heaven will set up a kingdom that will never be destroyed, nor will it be left to another people. It will crush all those kingdoms and bring them to an end, but it will itself endure forever.” Dan 2:44
In the last days the mountain of the Lord’s temple will be established as the highest of the mountains; it will be exalted above the hills, and all nations will stream to it. Many peoples will come and say, “Come, let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, to the temple of the God of Jacob. He will teach us his ways, so that we may walk in his paths.”
The law will go out from Zion, the word of the Lord from Jerusalem. He will judge between the nations and will settle disputes for many peoples. Nation will not take up sword against nation, nor will they train for war anymore. Isa 2:2-4
Jesus is the King
“The days are coming,” declares the Lord, “when I will raise up for David a righteous Branch, a King who will reign wisely and do what is just and right in the land.” Jer 23:5
“The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of his Messiah, and he will reign for ever and ever.” Rev 11:15
A Citizen of Heaven
But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ. Phil 3:20
For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.” Col 1:13-14
“… flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God, nor does the perishable inherit the imperishable. 1 Cor 15:50
Very truly I tell you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be judged but has crossed over from death to life. John 5:24
Jesus replied, “Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again.” John 3:3
Dear Father,
You are Lord of heaven and earth, King of all the earth, and yet we call you “Father”!
Thank you Lord for creating a Kingdom that will replace all the nations of earth one day. Thank you Lord for opening the door for us to become citizens of your Heavenly Kingdom!
We are your beloved children, and we give Jesus all glory and honour, today and forever!
In Jesus’ Name we pray,
Amen!
