What’s the most powerful weapon you can use as a Christian if you come under attack? Let’s learn from the Bible!
A vast army from several enemy nations was marching to attack God’s people. Alarmed, their king prayed publicly in front of the entire nation,
“Lord, you rule over all the kingdoms of the nations. Power and might are in your hand, and no one can withstand you. God, will you not judge them? For we have no power to face this vast army that is attacking us. We do not know what to do, but our eyes are on you.”
The Spirit of God responded, “Do not be afraid or discouraged because of this vast army. For the battle is not yours, but God’s. Tomorrow march down against them. You will not have to fight this battle. Take up your positions; stand firm and see the deliverance the Lord will give you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged. Go out to face them tomorrow, and the Lord will be with you.”
As they set out the next morning, the king said to his people, “Have faith in the Lord your God and you will be upheld; have faith in his prophets and you will be successful.” He appointed singers to go ahead of the army, praising the Lord by saying, “Give thanks to the Lord, for his love endures forever.”
As they praised God, the Lord set ambushes against their enemies. The enemy nations started fighting against each other, completely destroying each other. When God’s people arrived, all they had to do was collect the equipment, clothing and valuables their enemies had left – so much that they took three days to collect it all!
Dear friend, is there an enemy coming against you? Do not be afraid or discouraged. Pray and strengthen yourself in the Lord, then go out to fight the enemy with praise. Praise the Lord, for he will fight for you! The bigger the enemy, the bigger the plunder, so stay in peace and Praise The Lord!
From 2 Chronicles 20
Dear Father,
We praise you for who you are – our Gracious Father and Wonderful Creator, our Deliverer and Redeemer, our Helper in time of need!
Lord, we pray for deliverance from our enemies – from evil people, from lack and from sickness. We believe that as we stand and praise, you will go before us and defeat our enemies.
We give you thanks Lord, for your love endures forever!
In Jesus’ Name we pray,
Amen!
