Some people are like vibrant, healthy trees, full of delicious fruit. They are strong and overflow with blessings for others. People envy them and call them “blessed” because they SUCCEED IN EVERYTHING.
Surely you want to be like this person!
“Blessed is the person who… delights in the teachings of the Lord and reflects on his teachings day and night. He is like a tree planted beside streams – a tree that produces fruit in season and whose leaves do not wither. He succeeds in everything he does.” Psalm 1:1-3 GW
Notice that the tree is PLANTED. And it’s SEED that you plant.
“The seed is the word of God. And the seeds in the good ground are the ones who hear the word with an honest and good heart, hold on to it tightly, and produce fruit as they patiently endure.” Luke 8:11,15 EHV
You plant God’s Word in the ground of your heart when you read, memorise and speak the Bible.
What are you planting in your heart today?
Are you planting trivial news, meaningless gossip, or worldly entertainment? If you plant such seeds, you won’t be planting God’s Word.
Why grow a tree that’s weak and unproductive?
Are the people you listen to planting good seed in your heart? Or are you allowing weeds to start growing where good seed should be planted?
Why don’t you plant seeds that are guaranteed to make you successful?
Do you really believe what the Bible says?
“The seed that was sown on the good ground is the one who continues to hear and understand the word. Indeed he continues to produce fruit: some a hundred, some sixty, and some thirty times more than was sown.” Matthew 13:23 EHV
30x sounds like good returns on every seed you plant. 100x is even better!
And as you CONTINUE to hear and understand the Word of God, you CONTINUE to produce fruit!
Make this commitment with me today:
- I will read the Bible every day, and listen to it being taught.
- I will memorise verses from Scripture.
- I will meditate by speaking the Word I have memorised, all throughout the day.
“Never stop reciting these teachings. You must think about them night and day so that you will faithfully do everything written in them. Only then will you prosper and succeed.” Joshua 1:8 GW
