Our New Life Began When Christ Arose

Good Friday helps us remember that Jesus died for us. Today, we celebrate! Jesus rose from the dead, and that means new LIFE for us too!

The Bible teaches,

Everyone who belongs to Christ will be given new life.

You’ll get a new body and a new forever-life when Jesus returns one day to call you home to heaven!

Christ was raised as the first of the harvest; then all who belong to Christ will be raised when he comes back.

He will take our weak mortal bodies and change them into glorious bodies like his own.

But guess what. You’ll also experience new life right now on earth!

Since we believe that Christ died for all, we also believe that we have all died to our old life.

He died for everyone so that those who receive his new life will no longer live for themselves. Instead, they will live for Christ, who died and was raised for them.

This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!

And all of this is a gift from God, who brought us back to himself through Christ.

Dear friend, when God gives you new life, you become a new person. Stop feeling sorry for yourself like you did in the past. Don’t speak bad things about life like you’ve always done. That’s the old life.

Start thinking different. Start behaving like a changed person. You have new life in Christ, and the Bible shows how you can be changed day by day to become just like him.

And the Lord—who is the Spirit—makes us more and more like him as we are changed into his glorious image.

This new life is a journey, and we can do it together! Follow @jesu.wymkr to learn more each week! No matter what your past looks like, you now have new life, both now and forever!

Dear Father,

Thank you for sending our Lord Jesus to die for our sins, and thank you for raising him back to life – so that we can have new life in Christ!

Lord, we owe our entire life on earth to you, and we owe our life in eternity to you. That’s why we call you LORD, for this new life we have comes from you as a free gift!

Teach us how to live for you on earth Lord, and prepare us for the wonderful day we shall see you face to face.

In Jesus’ Name, the Name above every other name, we pray,
