Who can lead us with confidence into the new year? What can we look to as we enter into an uncertain future?
Our Lord Jesus has gone before us, and it is his cross that shall be lifted high as a new year begins!
We look with confidence to the finished work of Christ on the cross, assured that we are completely saved, by grace, through faith in him alone.
Jesus shall have the pre-eminence, and he shall take the highest honour!
“He existed before anything else,
and he holds all creation together.
Christ is also the head of the church,
which is his body.
He is the beginning,
supreme over all who rise from the dead.
So he is first in everything.
For God in all his fullness
was pleased to live in Christ,
and through him God reconciled
everything to himself.
He made peace with everything in heaven and on earth
by means of Christ’s blood on the cross.”
Colossians 1:17-20 NLT
Dear friend, let us pray this together:
“Lord Jesus, you are our Captain, our Great Shepherd, our Lord. You go before us and you cover us on every side. You are our Salvation, our Redeemer, our Saviour. We put our trust in you, for you loved us before we were even born. We dedicate this new year to you. May you be honoured and glorified in all things!”
