Jesus my Provision

Published 27 August 2020 by John Conrad Lee in // Upward

God promises to give you everything you need when you to stop thinking about the future and start seeking Jesus!

In Matthew 6:25-34, Jesus teaches us,

STOP WORRYING

“Do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear.”

Do not worry about tomorrow!
Do not be anxious about tomorrow!
Take no thought for tomorrow!
Never worry about tomorrow!
[verse 34 – NIV, ESV, KJV, ISV]

STOP AND CONSIDER

“Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you?”

SEEK FOR ONE THING

We are told to “seek first God’s kingdom and his righteousness.”

Do you know that Jesus himself is God’s righteousness for every believer? He is wisdom from God – our righteousness, holiness and redemption. Jesus is God’s righteousness revealed as a Person, and by faith in Jesus we receive the righteousness of God for ourselves!
[1 Corinthians 1:30, Romans 3:21-22]

So all you need to DO is seek Jesus and receive the righteousness of God that comes by believing in him!

EVERYTHING YOU NEED, FREELY GIVEN

As you start seeking for Jesus, even as you’re still searching, God’s promise of provision will be fulfilled. As we spend time seeking for Jesus, when we have no time to think about our future, then God promises that “ALL these things will be GIVEN to you as well.”

That’s right, everything that others worry about… you will receive as a gift from your Heavenly Father, even as you spend time seeking Jesus. So friend, discover Jesus in the bible. Talk to him in prayer. Sing songs to him in worship.

And ALL these things that others worry about SHALL BE given to you!
