Forget The Past, God Will Make a Way

Has something happened in the past that you cannot forget? Do you sometimes feel like a failure when you think of your past? Well, you can understand why the Apostle Paul in the Bible said,

“I don’t mean to say I am perfect. I haven’t learned all I should even yet, but I keep working toward that day when I will finally be all that Christ saved me for and wants me to be.

“No, dear brothers, I am still not all I should be, but I am bringing all my energies to bear on this one thing:

“Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead, I strain to reach the end of the race and receive the prize for which God is calling us up to heaven because of what Christ Jesus did for us.” Philippians 3:12-14 TLB

FORGETTING THE PAST – that’s the secret.

Thinking about the past is like running a race with a heavy weight strapped on your back. How can you do well in the race? How can you do well in life if the burdens of the past weigh you down?

But you can choose to let go. You can decide to leave the past behind. You can forgive, and you can forget. It’s your choice.

You can forgive yourself and forget your own mistakes, because God himself has already forgiven you.

“Do not remember the things that have happened before. Do not think about the things of the past. See, I will do a new thing. It will begin happening now. Will you not know about it? I will even make a road in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.” Isaiah 43:18-19 NLV

Dear friend, let God make a way for you, even if you feel like your life is a dry desert. Take the first step to let go of everything that’s past.

When you forget the past, you open the door for God to make a way where there seems to be no way!

Dear Father,

We thank you so much that you know our past but have chosen to forgive us completely. And now we trust you for strength that we may forgive ourself and others, to forgive and forget completely.

Lord, fill our souls with your love, so that there is no more space to think of the past. From today onwards, we leave the past behind, forgetting everything. We open the door for you to fill our future with hope and good success.

Father, you are our Waymaker, our only hope and our daily Salvation!

In Jesus’ Name we pray,

Amen!
