There was a great man in the Bible that was captured by foreigners but made into a top leader by 3 different foreign kings! Would you like to learn from him?
See what the kings did for this man, Daniel, in the book of Daniel (NKJV).
The first king Nebuchadnezzar,
promoted Daniel and gave him many great gifts; and he made him ruler over the whole province of Babylon, and chief administrator over all the wise men of Babylon (2:48), and said of Daniel, “Now you… are able, for the Spirit of the Holy God is in you.” (4:18)
The second king Belshazzar said to Daniel:
“I have heard of you, that the Spirit of God is in you, and that light and understanding and excellent wisdom are found in you.” (5:14) Then at Belshazzar’s command, Daniel was clothed in purple, a gold chain was placed around his neck, and he was proclaimed the third highest ruler in the kingdom. (5:29 NIV)
The third king Darius also made great plans for Daniel:
Then this Daniel distinguished himself above the governors and satraps, because an excellent spirit was in him; and the king gave thought to setting him over the whole realm. (6:3)
What made these kings so anxious to promote Daniel and make him the Prime Minister of their country?
What was Daniel’s secret?
The kings recognised that Daniel was filled with the Holy Spirit of God, and because of that, he had an EXCELLENT SPIRIT and was filled with EXCELLENT WISDOM.
Friend, you have the same Holy Spirit dwelling in you today!
Daniel says in his own words,
“Blessed be the name of God forever and ever,
For wisdom and might are His…
He gives wisdom to the wise
And knowledge to those who have understanding.
He reveals deep and secret things;
He knows what is in the darkness,
And light dwells with Him.
I thank You and praise You,
O God of my fathers;
You have given me wisdom and might…”
(2:20-23)
Dear friend, promotion comes from God, just as Daniel says.
Allow the Holy Spirit to fill you with wisdom and a spirit of excellence. When people see God’s Spirit in you, don’t be surprised if you get unexpected promotions.
You can become the leader God destined you to be, just like Daniel!
